Saying Goodbye To My Precious Little Girl Roxie

Saying Goodbye To My Precious Little Girl Roxie

I just said my final goodbye to my girl Roxie as I promised her that there will be no more suffering. She was the first girl dog I ever had and the relationship between us was certainly different from that of my others who were boys. I still remember quite clearly the first time I ever met her at the breeder 18 years and 10 months ago – so much personality!

She stole my heart every day. Her along with her brother Chester provided me with the love at home I never really had. Now that they are both gone, my house is just a place to sleep, eat and watch Netflix. As I pour over the countless photos and videos from their lives to make an upcoming tribute video to her, I hope that I provided them both with a happy life.

I am now free in a way as I start a new chapter of my own life. My obligations and responsibilities are now over. I plan to take some time to travel the world even though I’m bittersweet about it. But I’ll use that as part of my mourning.

I also need to recover a bit too as taking care of Roxie during her final weeks has taken a toll on me too. I do come away from this that I’m doing the right thing for Roxie and myself.

I’m not a religious person but I do hope that Roxie will reunite with her brother Chester along with a few of her doggie friends who have also departed so they can all continue their fun forever. Although I hope I still have a long life ahead of me, I hope that I someday will also reunite with all four of my Lhasa Apso dogs Pepper, Max, Chester and Roxie so that we could all be together again.

Thank you Roxie for being in my life for these past 18+ years — love you forever.
