Personal Development Review

Okay, it’s the end of June and therefore we are at mid year.  This is a good time to be totally honest with ourselves as we do a personal development review of our own progress.  Remember the exciting plans and goals you set at New Year?  How was your progress so far at this mid year point?

I’m sure that many of us will not be exactly celebrating our progress so far.  Many of our original goals probably got buried somewhere by now much like what happens to typical New Year resolutions.  And the goals we managed to remain active on so far this year, we may not have achieved as much as we thought we would.

Even for myself, there are a few things which I thought I would have completed by now.  For example, I thought I would have conducted at least one full day personal development seminar for the public before the summer.  To go along with that, there were also plans to launch a home study version of this seminar.  Neither of these happened as I got sidetracked but I don’t want to make any excuses.

Still Can Salvage Balance Of Year For Personal Development

Fortunately, we can all still salvage the balance of the year for our personal development.  We still have half the year to go and if we get back on track, we can all still finish off the year with a lot accomplished.

However, I think the first thing to do is to celebrate the things that you did do well so far.  It’s important to acknowledge them no matter how small they might be.  This shows that we had some progress even if they were not the big gains we had hoped for originally.  But some gains are better than no gains which shows that we are progressing.  We just have to rev up the momentum a bit.

For me, I managed to maintain my fitness goals even through the long Canadian winter – did you see my Motivational WebTV episode where I showed some snow skiing video footage?  If you missed it, catch it at my Play In Self Help Development episode.  I should be proud of this personal achievement.  Now it’s time to keep this up while getting back on track with other goals I had.

Be totally honest with your own personal development review and make any adjustments to finish off the rest of the year with a bang.

Share Results Of Your Personal Development Review

Sometimes I find that if I make something public, I will be more committed to a certain goal.  You can do the same here.  If you have certain things that you did well plus some that could have been done better from your own personal development review and would be willing to share them in public, feel free to do so here in the comments section just below.  Include what you really find frustrating in your personal development as acknowledging it is a good first step to overcoming challenges.
