Global Diversity Festival Coming Again

Global Diversity Coming Again

Global diversity in the form of the annual Carassauga festival will be coming to Mississauga in the Toronto area again this year for June 3, 4 and 5.  This is one of the largest events to mark on the diversity calendar.  I’ve been to several of them and they never fail to disappoint with lots of culture in dancing, food and other entertainment.

As I said last year, such events like Carassauga which showcases so much global diversity right here in our own neighbourhood, allows people to learn so much about each other’s cultures.  This is an event on the diversity calendar that people should be bringing their entire families to in order to expose their kids to new cultures they otherwise might not have much contact with in everyday life.

Global Diversity Highlights

If you missed my video highlights from the 2010 Carassauga festival, be sure to catch it as it had a complilation of many of the country pavilions I visited last year.  There was a ton of variety in that video which shows just how much variation there is out there.

If you live within a few hours of the greater Toronto area, I would highly recommend coming to the Carassauga festival, even if for only one day.  Advance passes are usually about $10 which is a real bargain for so much entertainment and education as well.  I will most certainly be going once again this year for the 2011 event as global diversity is always a great thing to catch, especially in the form of a fun, entertaining festival.

I haven’t decided whether or not I will be shooting any video at this year’s event yet as I don’t want to do something to similar to last year’s diversity festival highlights.  But what I might do if I do end up shooting video is maybe some interview with folks in their ethnic costumes or something.  We’ll see.

In the meantime, if you are into this topic, see my collection of diversity articles.
