Stories Of Inspiration

I had never seen the TV show ‘The Biggest Loser’ before this week when I decided to catch one of their recap shows where they brought back some past contestants to see where they are at.  This is a TV reality show based on overweight people going through a weightloss program supervised by personal trainers in a contest atmosphere.  The show I caught had some pretty amazing stories of inspiration.

I don’t recall the actual names of two particular past contestants but their stories of inspiration were quite memorable.  In one case, one lady who had a loving family with two young children, suddenly lost everything when her husband and both kids were tragically killed in a car accident.

This loss and probably resulting depression caused her to take on some bad health habits which turned her into an obese individual.  She came onto The Biggest Loser which helped start her health recovery and today, not only is she back to relatively good health as a person at a healthy weight level, she started dating again and is engaged.

She said that she was very grateful as an individual who found happiness not only once (through her past family), but twice in her lifetime now with her new health and relationship.

Another Amazing Story From The Biggest Loser

Another amazing story from The Biggest Loser was about this other lady who was also a previous contestant on the show.  She came into the show weighing in at over 300 pounds which is very obese.

Like the other contestants, the personal trainers got her started on her new journey towards better health.  Not only did she lose a lot of weight, she ended up training to a level where she was able to compete in triathalons.

One recent competition she successfully completed was the Ironman in Hawaii which is quite an enormous achievement.  I’m not a long distance sports participant (maybe due to me slight genetic condition of minor Thalassemia or low red blood cells) so I can’t even do such a feat.

I’m sure that there are many more stories of inspiration from The Biggest Loser that I don’t know about but it’s these types of stories I think people need.  It helps inspire the rest of us whether we also want to lose weight or become better at anything else.

Talking about stories of inspiration, I made sure there were a few in my personal growth book The Life Champion In You.
