Playing Eric Clapton Acoustic Layla Unplugged

Eric Clapton Layla Acoustic Unplugged

I was hoping to shoot some martial arts video but a nagging shoulder injury (rotator cuff) has been preventing optimal performance using my left arm lately.  So instead, I thought that I would shoot a new music video for your entertainment.

One of the tunes that I play on a regular basis is the acoustic guitar version of Layla unplugged by Eric Clapton.  This is the song I have been starting out with for my intimate live music performances this year.

Even though I have been playing it with my acoustic guitar, ie., unplugged, I will opt to play it with my electric Les Paul guitar later this weekend at my big party.  But for this video, I picked out my Ovation acoustic guitar again.

Acoustic Guitar Solo Unplugged

One thing that is different between my version and Eric Clapton’s is that he has a guitar solo in the middle of his song.  But since I’m playing this solo rather than with a backing band, I chose to finish off the song with a short acoustic guitar solo rather than have one in the middle of the tune.

Hope you like it!

The personal development lesson here is that there are always alternatives even while sidelined!
