Motivational Quotes For Work

Here are the motivational quotes for work (or home) that I posted at my Motivation Facebook page during the first week of November.

“It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” ~ J.K. Rowling

“If your success is not on your own terms, it is not success at all.” – A. Quindlen

“A leader leads by example not by force.” ~ Sun Tzu

“Your beliefs about reality become your beliefs about yourself.” ~ Steve Pavlina

“If you win through bad sportsmanship, that’s no real victory.” – Babe Zaharias

“Inspirations never go in for long engagements; they demand immediate marriage to action.” ~ Brendan Francis

The one above by Sun Tzu is interesting.  Sun Tzu, who is credited for his works in the Art Of War, was an ancient Chinese general.  You would think that his words would be more military related or at least involving force.  But his quote clearly reflects that of a smarter leader where leading by example is much better than by force.

This has shown to be the case in business as well since bosses who lead by example are much more effective in the long run than those who lead with a dictator like style.  This is also the case in world leadership as well and it’s unfortunate that there are still some world leaders out there who have not taken Sun Tzu’s motivational quotes for work seriously.  This is why there is still much trouble within their own countries.

Here’s the other motivational quotes for work I posted throughout last week.

“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.” ~ John Wooden

“I’m thankful to those who said NO, because of them I did it myself.” – Albert Einstein

“There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love. There’s only scarcity of resolve to make it happen.” – Wayne Dyer

“Compared to what we ought to be, we are only half awake.” – William James

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” ~ Saint Augustine

The one above by Wayne Dyer really speaks out to me.  I’m most certainly keeping that one in mind each time I do my own business planning as I’m thinking if whatever I do falls under the category of activities that I love to do.  If not, I really should think twice whether I want to pursue that project.

This is something we should all keep in mind for ourselves as well.  The efforts to make our passions become our careers and lives are definitely worthwhile and realistic.
