Motivation Personal Improvement Newletter

Many times in life
especially for personal improvement, it’s the little things we do over time
that count. In fact, Robert Collier said;
'Success is the sum of
small efforts repeated day in and day out'
I
was able to convince a lady friend of mine to start using weights as
part of a fitness routine. She had never used weights before
but
was open to the idea especially when she heard from health
professionals like her physiotherapist about the benefits of strength
training, particularly for women to prevent osteoporosis.
I put
her through a simple program utilizing a set of dumbbells she could use
at home. The entire routine took maybe only 15 to 20 minutes
to
complete and she agreed that it wasn’t much time out of her day.
So
she started exercising with this program as part of personal improvement a few times per week without
expecting immediate physical results but was content that she was at
least doing something good for her health. She quickly became
use
to these sessions as she became more familiar with the exercises.
Then
one day in front of the bathroom mirror a few months later, she told me
that she freaked out in a positive way. As she was doing her
hair, she suddenly noticed that she had muscle tone in her arms,
shoulders and back. Like many women, she never had any
noticeable
muscle tone in her upper body before. It’s like her muscles
suddenly popped out of nowhere.
She was just delighted with the
results of her strength training program which again, only took 15 to
20 minutes a few times per week. Again, this success was due
to
the sum of all those sessions with the dumbbells over time.
For
a lot of your goals, whether they be health related, career related or
personal improvement, these goals will be achieved only
by efforts each day over time. And these efforts do not have
to
be huge. A little bit at a time but on a regular consistent
basis
will get you results. Don’t expect immediate results. Just
incorporate these efforts in your daily life and do them. And
then at some point down the road, just like my friend, you will be the
one freaking out in a positive way too.
By
the way, Calendars.com have come out with their new 2010 calendars with
motivational, inspirational and success themes. They are just
beautiful and you can see them at Motivational Calendars.
