Clint Cora Martial Arts Karate World Champion

My martial arts training started well before my competition career started. But once I did start competing, I had a very long martial arts competition career that started in 1985 when I won my first medal.  As a multistylist in martial arts, I won divisions in karate, kung fu, tae kwon do, open freestyle and martial arts weaponry. Here is a partial list of my more notable martial arts competition victories from my twenty year competition career

My martial arts competition career was not without injuries though as I suffered ACL injuries on both knees which required major surgeries. These injuries did not stop my competition career though as won my very first world championship while heavily taped up after the first ACL tear. After the second incident a few years later, I adjusted my training emphasis to focus more on techniques that did not risk further injuries to my knees and interestingly enough, this shift actually made me a stronger competitor enabling me to win more world titles. I finally retired when I felt that there was nothing more to prove in this particular arena and didn’t want to do the competition travel anymore.

I still do martial arts today but at a much lower intensity level to keep up my forms (routines) since I still get both physical and mental fitness benefits from it.
