Ski Season Plus Winter Fitness Schedule

Ski Season Schedule

Well all of the winter ski resorts I usually go to in southern Ontario have started to make snow due to the colder temperatures.  This means that I will be back on skis very soon!

This also means the end of my fall season fitness program and the beginning of my combined ski season plus winter fitness schedule.  Although there will be periods like the holiday season at the end of December where I will be on snow for 13 days teaching ski camps, the schedule will be more normalized after New Year.

The Entire Winter Fitness Schedule

This is how my winter fitness schedule will look so far during the ski season.

Mondays: Advanced ski training at Glen Eden (during evenings)

Tuesdays: Ski training followed by ski teaching at Glen Eden

Wednesdays: Strength training with weights plus super stretch

Thursdays: Free ski at Blue Mountain or martial arts at home

Fridays: Free ski at Blue Mountain if did not ski Thursday or martial arts if skied Thursday

Saturdays: Strength training with weights plus super stretch or ski teaching at Mt St Louis Moonstone

Sundays: Ski teaching at Mt St Louis Moonstone or strength training with weights plus super stretch if skied Saturday

So some of the days will do different activities depending on what I did the day before.  Each week of my winter fitness program can be a bit different as my ski schedule may change.

Hopefully, despite the heavy ski schedule of about four days per week on skis minimum, I will still get in two strength training plus super stretch workouts per week.  Only my martial arts workouts will be less frequent compared to other seasons of the year.  The once per week martial arts sessions will basically aim to just keep my forms and techniques in my system until I can focus on them more after the ski season is over.

Keep Active All Winter Long

As you can see, following my winter fitness program keeps me active and fit all winter long no matter how cold it gets outside.  This is essential if one wants to stay healthy and fit over the long cold season which can be three to four months here in Canada.
