November Motivational Sayings

Once again, we’ve had a great month so far of motivational sayings posted at my Motivation Facebook page to inspire everyone, including myself.  Here are some dandies.

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” ~ Mark Twain

“If you are absent during my struggle, don’t expect to be present during my success.” – Will Smith

“There is only one person who could ever make you happy, and that person is you.” – David Burns

“Happiness is found in doing, not merely possessing.” -Napoleon Hill

“Don’t be afraid to be different and unique.  Dare to journey beyond the ordinary.” ~ Bohdi Sanders

“When you want success as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.” ~ Eric Thomas

“If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” – Dale Carnegie

Of the above set of great motivational sayings, the one by Napoleon Hill really speaks out to me.  It confirms to me that it’s not the possessions we buy such as the big screen TV, that big diamond bracelet or that fancy new car that makes us happy (although we may get the short term illusion that they make us happy).

In the longer term, it’s what we do with our lives that truly determine whether we are happy or not.  If we spend out time doing worthwhile things that help others, the environment or any other causes we feel strong about, we will be happy as a result, even if we don’t have that big luxurious mansion to live in.

Here are the other nice motivational sayings posted.

“Really big people are courteous, considerate & generous – not just to some people … but to everyone all the time.” ~ Thomas Watson

“Worry is interest paid on trouble before it comes due.” ~ Inge

“To fear is one thing. To let fear grab you by the tail and swing you around is another.” – Katherine Paterson

“It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Nothing is predestined: The obstacles of your past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings.” – Tina Stull

“You should never let your fear prevent you from doing what you know is right.” ~ Aung San Suu Kyi

“Stop thinking in terms of limitations and start thinking in terms of possibilities.” ~ Terry Josephson

Since Aung San Suu Kyi is in the spotlight recently with not only her release from house arrest in Burma, but also with the historical visit to the country by President Obama, we might as well highlight her motivational quote.  Of course, her quote is definitely one that represents her well.

I’m sure she experienced fear from the military government officials who put her through such hardship including house arrest for so many years.  But she continued to this day to stick to her beliefs despite the fear.  This should be an inspiration to us all.
