Motivational Short Stories

We could all benefit from motivational short stories of different people since they not only inspire us but teach us important lessons to better our own lives.  One of the most saddest situations to be in for many people unfortunately revolves around loneliness and the lack of friends.

The lack of a social life has been one of the greatest causes of depression and poor well being.  Being all alone without anybody to talk to totally sucks.  It’s a very easy trap to fall into especially when one relocates to another city without knowing anyone there.

How To Get A Better Social Life

I’ve been there before in this situation actually a few times now since I’ve had to relocate a number of times for business and pretty well had to start my social life over again.  Fortunately, I came up with a step-by-step plan to kick start my social life again in each new city.

Since motivational short stories are often the best way to illustrate such plans, I used one of my own for a more detailed guest article I wrote in the Lifehack website called Step-By-Step Plan To Get More Friends.

The actual steps I used are as follows;

1) Identify a passion that others will also be interested in
2) Locate groups centered around this passion
3) Participate in group activities
4) Actively volunteer for various roles to help the group
5) Develop friendships over time with people you interact with

To get more details as well as examples for each step, see the Lifehack article.  The actual story I used was connected to a ski club in Toronto but these steps above could be used for almost any social setting.

These are the same steps that I used each time I relocated to a new city and as a result, built up many long term friends I still keep in touch with today even though we all live in different cities now.

If you know anybody who could use a lift in his or her social life, please refer my Lifehack article since it really will help that person.  A lack of friends is not a good thing and sometimes people just need a roadmap to help them.
