Injured Canadian Soldier Now Para-Olympic Athlete

Something on CBC News caught my attention last night.  They profiled an ex Canadian paratrooper soldier who served in the Balkans, Afghanistan and other war zones.  He was injured during a paratrooping exercise and became paralyzed from the waist down.  He then turned his efforts into rowing and is now training to represent Canada at the Para-Olympic Games in Beijing.  I forgot his name but he trains out of Sudbury, Ontario.

He claims that training as an athlete is very similar to training as a soldier since it’s the mission that must be accomplished.    He feels that it’s an honor to represent Canada again.  Now that is just very inspiring.
