Canadian Motivational Speaker Impressed

One of the things I like about social media like Facebook is the sharing of neat content by everyone. Recently, I spotted some images of an 86 year old gymnast named Johanna Quaas. Gymnastics is usually known as a young sport because of the great flexibility required as well as injuries possible. So when I heard about a senior age gynmast, I was completely taken back.

I did some online research and sure enough, this story about Johanna Quaas was real and legit. To prove it, here she is on a video showing her routine on parallel bars at a German gymnastics competition. Of course, she’s not expected to compete for an Olympic team at her age but so what? The victory, as evidenced by the audience response, is her getting out there doing her thing, at her age – see the video at 86 Year Old Gymnast.

What’s Your Excuse?

Johanna’s example is yet another one of what I call “So What’s Your Excuse?”

What I mean here can imply many different things.  What’s your excuse for not exercising and keeping fit?  It better not be some age related excuse.

Or it can also imply what is your excuse for not even trying to achieve some goals which might be too challenging on the surface.

As a Canadian motivational speaker, I’m always happy to hear about stories like that of Johanna Quaas since they prove to the rest of us that many awesome things in life can indeed be achieved if you put your time and energy into them as well as get the proper help from the right people.   It’s another story I can use sometime during my motivational keynotes.

Who knows?  Maybe once I get my current projects stabilized, I might even think about going back to international martial arts competition!
